BBM Will Finally Embrace iOS and Android Platforms

It’s about time Blackberry steps up and realizes that BBM needs to integrate with other platforms. One of the key features of Blackberry’s selling points is BBM, and is also one of the hardest one’s to leave, if you were considering moving to another smartphone. However, most of us have taken the leap, leaving BBM on the wayside. Recognizing the need, BlackBerry chief executive Thorsten Heins confirmed that its BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) application will soon be available on iOS and Google Inc. Andriod platform.

Mr Heins refers to this news as, “a statement of confidence,” in their decision to offer the BBM application to the rest of the smartphone world.

The BBM app will be free and available to Android and iOS users by this summer. The service will include its traditional messaging and will likely offer video call services in the future.
